W. Alex Harris

Alex Harris’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, white collar matters, and appellate litigation.

Prior to joining MoloLamken, Mr. Harris served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jerome A. Holmes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and to the Honorable Kevin H. Sharp of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He also worked as an associate in the New York office of Jones Day, where he focused on appellate litigation, motions practice, and trial strategy in state and federal courts. 

Before law school, Mr. Harris worked at the Financial Clinic, a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides financial counseling for low-income families.

  • Represented software company in petition for writ of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court regarding the preclusive effect of foreign courts’ judgments

  • Won full custody rights for parent in disputed custody action in Kings County Family Court

  • Represent plaintiff in §1983 solitary-confinement case against Rikers Island Corrections Officers in the Southern District of New York

  • Represent Individual appellant in appeal of criminal sentence in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Central District of Illinois

  • Successfully represented National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as amici curiae in Garza v. Idaho, 139 S. Ct. 738 (2019)

  • Represented National Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, National School Boards Association, and School Superintendents Association as Amici Curiae in Bostock v. Clayton Cty., 17-1618 (2019)
