Cody A. Wiles

Cody A. Wiles’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and appeals. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of venues, including state courts, federal courts, and arbitral forums. 

Before joining MoloLamken, Mr. Wiles clerked for the Honorable Jill A. Pryor of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and for the Honorable John Antoon II of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. During law school, Mr. Wiles was a research assistant for Michael S. Barr, the former Vice Chair for Supervision at the Federal Reserve. 

Prior to attending college, Mr. Wiles spent four years in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a field artilleryman and a combat marksmanship coach for the 11th Marine Regiment. He later served as the defense fellow for Congressman Scott Peters, supporting the congressman’s work on the House Armed Services Committee.

• Represents an energy company in a pair of lawsuits brought by an investment bank and hedge fund in the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division, arising from a dispute over secondary market share purchases
• Represents a group of alternative investment managers in a suit alleging breach of contract and professional negligence in the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division
• Represents a putative class of direct purchaser credit unions in an antitrust suit against a major financial services company in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
• Represents a senior auto industry executive in a DOJ criminal investigation
• Represents a senior employee at a multinational financial services company in a DOJ investigation into money laundering
• Represents a special servicer in multiple disputes over the administration of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS)
• Represents certificateholders of residential mortgage-backed securities in a trust instruction proceeding over the distributions of settlement payments and the handling of trust funds
• Represented a private equity firm in an appeal before the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department
